Labelexpo Europe is one of the largest events for the label, product decoration, web printing and converting industry. Visitors like printing and converting professionals as well as label designers can see live demonstrations of the latest working machinery and materials, learn about global label trends and technologies and meet the world’s leading network providers & industry experts. The exhibition also covers digital label technology and its environment-friendly solutions.
The 40th anniversary edition of Labelexpo Europe, held from 24th to 27th of September 2019 in Brussels, Belgium encompassed a total of 693 exhibitors and almost 38,000 attendees hailing from 140 countries across the world.
Having the theme Technology in Action, the exhibition proved to be a great platform for buyers to experience the machines in action, while it also helped the sellers to get out of magazines and brochures to showcase the true worth of their products to their prospective customers.
Hybrid machinery was another key trend at the event, with several label press demonstrations by industry leaders. The show also featured several workshops and the Flexible Packaging Arena, which drew huge crowds at every one of its eleven live demonstrations.
The Sustainability Insight Café showed the customers how they might boost their green credentials with a gallery of the latest sustainable innovations. The popular educational program – the show’s most extensive to date – drew in attendees eager to boost their industry knowledge. Three expert-led Label Academy hosted master classes covered the hot topics of Inks, Coatings and Varnishes; Digital Label and Package Printing; and Flexible Packaging, while a workshop covered Self-Adhesive Label Materials.
Cosmo Films, a leading manufacturer of packaging and labeling films, also got the opportunity to showcase their vast portfolio at the 4-day expo.
The new labeling films displayed were specially designed keeping the latest trends such as sustainability, transparency, premium finish substrates and personalization in mind. Some of the films displayed by Cosmo Films at the expo were Both Side Coated & Matte Coated Pressure Sensitive Labelstock Films, Transparent In-Mould Label Films and High Tear Resistant Synthetic Paper for Tags and Labels.
After receiving a warm response from all prospective customers and visitors, Mr. Pankaj Poddar, the CEO of Cosmo Films said “It has been a very good show for us. The demand for our products is growing tremendously, especially for sustainable products. We are working with multiple MNCs to develop new packaging materials for them. To cater to the demand we have increased the size of our R&D team.”
With the end of this year’s Labelexpo, preparations have already begun for Labelexpo Europe in 2021. It would be interesting to see what the next expo holds for the industry.
